Reflection on the project “What did you eat”

April 3, 2008

            After having a project called “What did you eat”, I think I had better change my eating habits. Just like the teacher, Alice told us in the class, we have to cut down snacks or any extra foods we ate because they were really unhealthy to our body and might be the predisposition to the cardiovascular diseases in our future. By drinking enough water and eating enough organic foods, we can make our body strong also. Then, don’t forget to have the appropriate food as your breakfast because the first meal in the day is the source of energy!

The brand-new project—-Different Food around the world

November 7, 2007

         I am Brandon, the student from Lishan Senior High School in Taiwan. I’m in class 202 and I’m going to do a special project that may have a strong appeal to your “stomach”, that is to introduce the different foods around the world to you~!!!

        The main purpose of the project is to let everyone  know the different foods around the world and their stories ( what had caused people to invent them), the appearance they have ( how do they look like), the taste they have ( how  you feel when you’re eating them), and the most important one–where can you taste them  at the place you live~!!!

         You might wonder how I know the taste of those foods?  Don’t be worried! Before I tell you the taste of them, I’ll taste them first, just like to “demonstrate“. I’ll also take photos and notes while I am tasting them, and use flickr and blog to “feed” you all the information!

         I hope this will not only make your run at the mouth but also know more about other countries’ cultures after reading my reports, and the most of all—Don’t forget to give it a try when you have a chance~!!!

The Insrospection after The Interview

April 8, 2007

  Q1: Did the interview go as you expected or planned? If not, how did you deal with it?

  A1: Yes, it did. If not, I would change the questions or the interviewee.

_______________________________________________________________________________

  Q2: Did you encounter any difficulty when you organized your materials from the interview? If yes, how did you overcome it?

  A2: Yes, I met some words that I didn’t know how to change it into English. I overcome it by looking up in the dictionary or asking classmates and teachers.

_______________________________________________________________________________

  Q3: How did you feel about the interview? Were you  satisfied? Is there anything that you would like to change for improvement?

A3: Not really. I think I can ask more questions about my family history, like why did our ancestors lived in Chiufen…….

  Q4: How did the interviewee feel about the interview? Was she/he happy to be interviewed? Did she/he share more than you asked?

A4: Yes, she was glad that I interviewed her. She also shared another memories to me like the snacks she ate in the past, the games she played in her childhood.

The Gains from The Project

April 8, 2007

             After I interviewing my aunt, I realized one thing—- I am very lucky and happy.I don’t have to work hard after graduated from elementary. I can eat lots of delicious food everyday, not just congee or the peels of radish. And I wouldn’t be hurt after someone is drank. I also learned a lesson from this interview, that was don’t complain any things in my life because I just lives in the happiness!    0.0  (I am happy that our teacher and our English PDL gave me a chance to let me know the history about my family and how lucky I am!)

The Result of The Interview

April 8, 2007

             Last Sunday I interviewed my aunt at home. I asked her the questions that I posted on my blog. She said that was a new experience to her because she had never been interviewed before and it was also a new experience to me because it was the first time that I  interviewed my relative. Here are the conversations between us:

    Br: Good afternoon, aunt. Thanks for your time.

    Au: Good afternoon, my dear.  ====================================================================

    Br: The first question is “What was the reason that grandma wanted to have five children during the  hard-living time?”

   Au: In the past, old people always thought “More children you have, more luck you get. (多子多孫多福氣)” So they always had lots of children even when the time was very hard-living . ======================================================================

    Br: Why did you have to work after you graduated from elementary school?

    Au: Because my family didn’t have enough money to let me to continue my study, especially for a girl. And grandpa always lost lots of money in gambling.

======================================================================

    Br: What kind of job did you get at that time and how much you got after a hard-working month?

    Au: I was in the employment of some rich people to clean their house, take care of their children and didn’t go home during the time. One hundred and fifty dollars was the money I got after a hard-working month.

=====================================================================

    Br: Was it true that grandpa always hurt grandma and all of you after he was drunk? And how did you feel about it or avoid it?

    Au: Yes, it was a really terrible memory. I felt afraid and didn’t have any chances to avoid it.

======================================================================

   Br: What was your most unforgettable memory in your childhood?

   Au: My most unforgettable memory must be the trip that your grandpa brought me to his mining shaft when I was little. We wore the helmet and took a mine car along the track. The wind blew from the cave was cool, the speed of the mine car was really fast and the trip was really exciting. Mish you have a chance to experience!!! ======================================================================

   Br: What did you eat every day during that hard-living time? And what kind of special food could you only eat in some special holidays or vacation?

   Au: I ate a little sweet photo congee, some pieces of the vegetables and the some peels of the radish.

======================================================================

   Br: If you are able to change one thing in your childhood, what will you change?

   Au: I might continue my study after I graduated from the elementary school, not just worked and worked!=====================================================================

   Br: After I interviewed you, I thought your childhood was really hard-working and I am so lucky. I must cherish every moment that I have now!

   Au: You are right! Don’t waste any moment you have now!======================================================================

    Br:  Thanks for your time, aunt.

    Au: You’re welcome. You let me to think back of my childhood!

The Kindred Project

March 25, 2007

The Kindred Project

          In this project, I am going to write  a story about my relative and my family history story. The relative I am going to interview is my aunt. The reason why I want to interview her is that my aunt is the eldest child in my family and she is also the most hard-working child in my family. I am going to interview her in her free time on this saturday. There are the questions that I am going to ask her:

       1.      What was the reason that grandma wanted to have five children during the hard-living  time?

       2.      Why did you have to work after you graduated from elementary school?

       3.      What kind of job did you get at that time and how much you got after a hard-working month?

       4.      Was it true that grandpa always hurt grandma and all of you after he was drunk? And how did you feel about it or avoid it?

       5.      What was your most unforgettable memory in your childhood?

       6.      What did you eat every day during that hard-living time? And what kind of special food could you only eat in some special holidays or vacation?

       7.      If you are able to change one thing in your childhood, what will you change?
